Medavie Health Services West (MHS West) is proud to recognize Paramedic Services Week, taking place May 18–24, 2025. This year’s national theme - We Care. For Everyone. - is a powerful reflection of the care, compassion, and commitment that paramedics across our organization demonstrate every day.

Across Alberta and Saskatchewan, our teams are a lifeline in moments of crisis. Whether responding to an emergency call in a remote rural community, transporting a patient across a long distance, or supporting mental health outreach in an urban center, our paramedics are always ready to answer the call.

Each year, our dedicated professionals respond to almost 9,400 emergency calls. From these calls alone, our ambulances and response units travel more than 4.7 million kilometers annually — covering a vast and diverse landscape across two provinces. Behind every response is a highly trained team of over 600 paramedics, each bringing skill, heart, and humanity to the patients and communities we serve.

MHS West operates five paramedic services companies in Alberta and Saskatchewan, each grounded in the same commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. Our paramedics are not only healthcare providers — they are educators, community advocates, and trusted professionals who support people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
