Our company is overseen by Medavie Health Services based out of Halifax; we deliver a tiered Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service that responds to the City of Saskatoon (population 274,000) along with the surrounding rural communities of approximately 50,000 people. MHS West - Saskatchewan (previously MD Ambulance Care) currently has 190 employees that include our management team, paramedics, communications officers, and our administration staff. We have served the residents of Saskatoon and surrounding area since 1976 and currently have a call volume of roughly 30,000 calls per year.

Our specialized skills are one of our defining characteristics that allow us to show our diversity in several areas of expertise that include a six time accredited communications centre, community paramedics, and contracted partnerships with;

- Saskatoon Police Service – Paramedics in Cells / Emergency Response Team

- Saskatchewan Health Authority – Medical Communications Centre, Health Bus, Heart Safe Program, ACAL Program, Paramedics in ER, Palliative Care Last Wish Program

MHS West is dedicated to the community we serve by volunteering hundreds of hours each year to several events happening throughout urban and rural communities and we are ready to respond anytime we are needed.
